A note from Harold Brand (CYBRA CEO)

As we turn the page on another year, I take this opportunity to thank you — our devoted customers and partners. We do not take your loyalty for granted. You choose to trust CYBRA’s solutions to assist you in your daily business operations, and we are grateful for your partnership. CYBRA’s staff looks forward to continuing to provide you with top-tier software innovations and services, along with unparalleled support, in the year ahead.

CYBRA has experienced a banner year in 2023. Here are some key highlights.

WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED IN 2023

  • Supplementing our ever-growing list of supported printers – now exceeding 700 printer types – we added drivers for TSC, Citizen Systems, and Bixolon printers. Each brand has unique product offerings that customers find useful:
    • Citizen Systems – In addition to industrial and desktop label printers, Citizen also provides printers for kiosks and POS applications.
    • TSC – TSC boasts a large variety of printers to fit a wide range of needs. Their newest line of printers are highly sustainable and compliant with WEEE, REACH and RoSH requirements. Although these acronyms might sound like the names of jam bands, they are actually important standards.  TSC explains why: https://emea.tscprinters.com/en/weee-reach-rohs
    • Bixolon – Bixolon’s high performance printers support fast liner and linerless label printing as well as UHF RFID direct printing.
  • We established strategic partnerships with several new solution providers including Xerafy, Flourish, and WISER to name just a few. Here’s how CYBRA customers can benefit from these partnerships:
    • Xerafy – Xerafy manufactures among the most rugged RFID tags on the planet, making it an ideal fit for RFID projects with specialized requirements.
    • Flourish – Flourish is a seed-to-sale supply chain and POS software company focused on the cannabis industry. CYBRA’s MarkMagic is the printing engine integrated into Flourish’s ERP software.
    • WISER – WISER Systems works in conjunction with CYBRA’s Edgefinity IoT to provide users with real-time tracking capabilities via Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) technology.
  • CYBRA is proud to have been awarded best AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) case study for 2023 by AIM (Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility). The case study highlights a solution engineered by CYBRA to allow e-ink digital label creation for Ember Cubes. The Ember Cubes are the world’s first self-refrigerated, cloud-based shipping box.  The combined CYBRA and Ember solution sets a new industry standard for transporting life-saving medicines around the world.  It has the potential to transform the healthcare industry supply chain.
  • We upped our street cred substantially by successfully installing Edgefinity IoT into one of RFID technology’s most challenging environments yet. Thermo Fisher, the pharmaceutical giant, needed to closely track serum throughout its refrigerated environment to stay compliant with strict USDA regulations. CYBRA’s Edgefinity IoT iced it.
  • For the third year in a row SourceForge has acknowledged MarkMagic as the top performer in its barcoding software category.

There’s much more in store for 2024. Here is a sneak peek of what you can expect:

  • Be on the lookout next month for the release of our latest and greatest version of MarkMagic – version 11! It is packed with all kinds of interesting new features.  Here are two we’re particularly excited about:
    • New Direct PDF Print Driver – MarkMagic 11 will have an option to send/print PDFs directly to PDF enabled printers with several new TTF fonts included.
    • New Universal Print Driver – Users will have the freedom to design/print just about anything and send to your supported MarkMagic printer without worrying about native printer constraints. How? MarkMagic 11 can convert the output to your printer’s native graphic type and be sent to print as an image.
  • MarkMagic Cloud’s scheduled official release is Q1 2024. It will be packed with all the functionality and performance as the MarkMagic on-prem version. It is a true multi-tenant implementation. And the label and form designer can be accessed via browser. For on-prem users – don’t worry! We still have your back (unlike some of our competitors).  Our support and development policies for current MarkMagic instances will NOT change at all.
  • In 2023, we achieved a record number of installations for our RFID asset tracking product – Edgefinity IoT. To improve its flexibility and usefulness, we’ve added support for more hardware providers and applications. Along with adding support for WISER RTLS technology, the Edgefinity IoT R&D team is working on NO SQL and Air Table Support.
  • We are excited about the rebirth of our EdgeMicro RFID handheld offering. It is a basic RFID starter solution that solves a range of common logistical and inventory management challenges at a highly competitive price point. EdgeMicro allows you to deploy RFID applications into your supply chain without heavy investments or customizations.
  • We plan to hit the road more this year in order to log more facetime with both current and prospective customers. You’ll be able to meet our team in 2024 at Manhattan Momentum, Modex, and other shows yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned!

We could not have achieved the success we’ve attained without your continued devotion and support. I sincerely wish you and your loved ones a holiday season overflowing with joy, peace, and resilience. May you be blessed with an abundance of health, vigor, purpose, prosperity, and cherished moments with loved ones in the year ahead.
