Overview: Keeping Employees Safe with RFID

Edgefinity IoT addresses the complex safety and security needs of facilities ranging from typical office buildings to critical infrastructure. It is a fully scalable software/hardware solution. Combining active RFID hardware and software with RTLS, UWB, and multi-sensor capabilities, Edgefinity IoT gives stakeholders the assurance of health, safety and secure monitoring of staff even in lone worker situations.

Edgefinity IoT keeps workers and first responders in the know by sending out instant alerts whenever an incident occurs. No matter where managers are, they can always have a live, real-time view of any active alert situation from inception through resolution.

Enhanced Worker Safety with Panic Buttons

With Edgefinity IoT all employee badges contain a panic button. This feature can let you know of any events happening in Real Time throughout your facility. Once the button is pressed an alert will go off, this can trigger an onscreen popup in security, text message email, siren or any IP addressable device to investigate the situation.

Employee’s can hit the panic button in case of a health emergency or environmental incident in the facility.

Lone Worker Safety Tracking

Edgefinity IoT provides lone worker safety solutions for companies and enterprises. Our technology gives you an eagle eye view of your facilities and employees. Improve your enterprise’s safety initiatives with Edgefinity IoT.

System Capabilities

Edgefinity IoT allows users to maintain and improve their safety protocols without extensive customization or programming. CYBRA’s safety monitoring solutions provide the following tools and capabilities.

Enforce Minimum Staffing Requirements

You can finally enforce minimum staffing requirements for your facility. These are also time dependent as during the day you may have a minimum staffing of 2 people in the security room while during the evening you may only need one.

It is also very flexible while the minimum staffing maybe 2 people but you allow for 10-minute breaks of one of the employees so if an employee leaves it starts a timer and will only alert when the minimum staffing is under 2 for greater than 10 minutes but if both employees leave this would generate an immediate alert.

Fall Protection Technology

Inside each of the badges are sensors to detect when an employee falls. This will trigger an alert back to the security center or the floor supervisor to send help as quickly as possible. The alert will have the position of the employee overlaid on a map of the facility to find them quickly.

Real Time Location Tracking

Edgefinity IoT can track the real time position of all employees in the facility and trigger rules around them. The location of employees can be hidden and only used to trigger rules or only show up in emergency situations.

Can the Panic Button be Used for Other Purposes?

Yes, we typically use the panic button for emergencies however some facilities use it for other purposes, within Edgefinity IoT you can customize your rules and have the panic button send out any type of information you need.

How Long Do the Batteries Last and How Do We Recharge Them?

This depends on what features the badges have and how often the transmit location. The badges can last anywhere between 3 months and 1 year and they are easily charged via wireless charging, just set the tag on a charger and it charges.
