RFID Tag

What is an RFID Tag?

An RFID tag is a tiny, electronic device that carries information about an object. These tags can be used to identify an asset using a receiver. The technology is gaining popularity, and these tiny devices are now available in various shapes and sizes. They are used to track assets of all types and can be found everywhere. And because they can be embedded in a variety of objects, they can be used in many different settings.

An RFID tag doesn’t require its own power source. It’s powered by a radio signal, which induced an electrical current inside the chip. This power sends a signal to the RFID reader. Once it receives the message, the scanner will send a signal to the tag. Often, this signal will trigger an alarm. This is a convenient way to track products. Using the data from an RFID tag will make the process of tracking them more efficient.

An RFID tag can be attached to nearly any type of object. Most tags target apparel, baggage, containers, construction materials, laundry, and bottles, but they can also be attached to people, animals, and vehicles. There are tags designed for rugged outdoor applications. These are made to last for long periods of time in harsh conditions. Because they don’t use batteries, they can operate around the clock, without any risk of power loss. These heavy-duty tags are usually attached to trucks, cargo, or other items.
