BAP (Battery Assisted Passive) Tag

What is a Battery Assisted Passive Tag?

“Semi-passive” RFID tags with an onboard power source to run the circuitry, but which communicate with a reader using the same backscatter technique as passive tags. The tag can use the battery to send its signals farther than passive RFID tags with a range of approximately 300 feet. Additionally, the built in battery allows tags to incorporate sensors that can monitor movement and environmental conditions like temperature or humidity.
