What is GPS?

Global Positioning System. Satellite navigation system used for determining the user’s precise location and providing an accurate time reference worldwide.

GPS is a global positioning system comprised of satellites and receivers that constantly send signals to users. A ground control operation on Earth manages the GPS system and its signal signals. It has many applications, including telematics, asset tracking, transportation, navigation, personnel safety monitoring, and law enforcement.
