ETSI stands for the European Telecommunications Standards Institute. It is an independent, non-profit organization that develops telecommunications standards in Europe. The organization has seventy-four members from 62 countries. These members represent network operators, service providers, government agencies, research institutes and users. The work program of the ETSI is determined by the needs of its member organizations. The organization is responsible for producing a range of standards and related technical documentation. The ETSI also provides interoperability testing services and other specialist services to help ensure that European telecoms networks are compatible and secure.
