The Create A New Box Field dialog is used to add new box fields to your format.  When editing an existing box field, an exact duplicate dialog called Edit A Box Field is displayed instead.


Properties


Name and Description


  • Field Name - Naming Box fields is optional.  Please see Field Names for more information.  Providing a name can help better identify the box in List View and when involving the box in PrintTransformer conditions.
  • Field # - An automatically assigned number for the field.  This is an internally used number for list ordering and field identification.
  • Description - Optional 350 character max description for the box field.



Positioning Properties


  • Row Start - The starting Row or Y start position on the format.
  • Row End - The ending Row or Y end position on the format.
  • Column Start - The starting Column or X start position on the format.
  • Column End - The ending Column or X end position on the format.



Line Properties


  • Color - Desired print color for the box field.  Only colors enabled and supported by the current printer type (device) driver will be listed.
  • Corners - Choose the corner type for the box field.  On certain laser printer device types, you may choose rounded or notched corners.
  • Style - Choose the shading or box fill type.  Depending on the printer device type, you will be presented with a pull down list of available box fill styles.  For example, various degrees of shading, stripes and grid patterns as well as full black or dark fill.
  • Thickness - Desired thickness of the lines that make up the box field.
